They have large, easy to read letters, and are magnetic so they can stick on your fridge, filing cabinet or anything steel, a baking tray, or bickie tin.

The First Words Kit, is a box of 140 kid friendly, big sized word magnets to help children develop a love of language.

The Kid’s Kit contains over 350 magnetised words and word fragments, for children to arrange into phrases, sentences or poetry. Each kit comes with a kid’s guide to magnetic poetry booklet, and a clear little box to pack them up in.

What I found with this toy, is that it was great for my son to be able
to put together a sentence, without having to worry about spelling or
handwriting. He could work on getting the words in an order that made
sense, and then add more words at the
start, or in the middle, to make a complete sentence. He can rearrange
it in
front of him, till he gets the sentence structure he wants.
The other thing that is noticeable is that due to his expressive language
problems,
he is often stuck for words. But with a jumbled array of these well chosen
words in
front of him, his language flows, the visual prompts help him along, he
reads his creations out loud, and now I make him write them into a book,
I’m working on his pencil grip.
What I also like to do with my children is to make up really silly sentences,
taking
turns, my daughter goes first puts up one word, then my son chooses one,
then I
place the next word. This is brilliant for teaching turn taking, and also
imaginative language composition.

Sea Animal and Dinosaur Puzzles
We have available some great 3D animal puzzles.
The sea animals are 8-9 piece puzzle models about 90-100mm long, of
Humpback Whale, Great White Shark, Dolphin, or Orca.

The dinosaur egg puzzles are a little more difficult, with 22-28 pieces
in each
model of, Styracosaurus, Saltasaurus (long neck), Stegosaurus, and
Tyrannosaurus.
They are challenging little 3D puzzles that are very rewarding, because
they are so nice and realistic when completed. And I get my kids to tell
me who they have made, what is it, what’s his name, where do they
live, what do they eat. my son talks and plays along with my daughter,
he says “oops (not happy Jan) his tail’s just fell off,
can I fix it, yes I can”.
